Craft a one-idea hook
Aisle visitors have no time to read a catalog. A clear promise, a benefit or a relevant question beats a service list.
Test your hook: an outsider should understand it in three seconds.
Work contrast, height and light
A stand stands out through contrast with neighbors, height of strong signs and light that guides the eye. Visual sameness is the enemy of stopping.
Avoid text that is too small at height. What looks good in a mockup can be unreadable on the show floor.
Create an immediate stopping point
Product demo, dynamic screen, signature object, welcoming counter: the stand needs a concrete magnet near the aisle.
Place that magnet without blocking entry. The goal is to invite, not create a deterring queue.
- Magnet visible from the aisle
- Free and readable entry
- Staff ready to engage
Design a simple internal journey
Once visitors enter, guide them: quick discovery, deeper dive, contact capture. Too many simultaneous options create confusion.
Keep enough clearance. An attractive but saturated stand loses quality conversations.
Use interactivity sparingly
Totems, touchscreens and digital experiences work if they help understand the offer. Otherwise they divert attention from sales conversations.
A short useful interaction beats a long experience that creates waiting.
Measure what truly attracts
Watch stops, recurring questions and zones where visitors linger. Adjust messaging and staff placement live.
After the show, link these observations to leads obtained to improve the next design.
- Hook tested in 3 seconds
- Strong contrast with surroundings
- Aisle magnet + internal journey
- Live observation and iteration
Frequently asked questions
What is the first attractiveness lever?
Readability of the main message from afar. If people cannot quickly understand who you are, traffic passes by.
Do screens always attract?
Yes if they play useful, well-paced content. An unreadable or weak loop becomes visual noise.
Should the stand be closed or open?
A controlled opening often works best: accessible from the aisle, with calmer zones inside.
